  • Doc devotes over 90% of his Scouting time to outdoor activities.
  • Doc far exceeds the national average for advancement and leadership.
  • Doc is a key element of our outdoor program that focuses on year round activities schedule each month with hiking and canoeing 50 Milers scheduled on alternating years.
  • Doc has been a conerstone in developing A Scout is Reverent Week observances every year whereby the Troop attends three separate and unique religious services.
  • Doc has helped develop and maintain Troop 260's active outdoor schedule in the Quicksilver district and was the only Troop in the Council awarded a National Camping Ribbon in xxyear.

Dr. Harris is a Space Shuttle Astronaut, a physician/surgeon and an author.  He is the spokesperson for the BSAs STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) initiative which our council is a part of.
